The Lonely Mitten Project is back in Napanee, and organizers are hoping the community can help them top last year’s impressive total of 282 donated winter items.
myFM spoke with Tiffany Lloyd, Organizer and LDSB Trustee, who says last year they received more than just lonely mittens,
The 2nd annual initiative runs now through Christmas and focuses on providing warm clothing to students who need it most, while also keeping usable textiles out of landfills.
Last year’s donations went to J.G. Simcoe Public School. This year, the items will be delivered to The Prince Charles Public School to help meet growing needs.
Donations can be dropped off at three Napanee locations: A Loveliegh Place at 6 Mill St East, Vital Blends at 310 Bridge St West, and Davis & Davis at 199 Richmond Boulevard.
Residents are encouraged to check their closets and help support local students this winter.
