The Ontario government has released the 2026 Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund (OMPF) allocations, providing $600 million in unconditional funding to 388 municipalities across the province. The fund supports small, northern, and rural municipalities, helping them provide essential services and manage fiscal challenges.
For 2026, the OMPF includes a $50 million increase targeted at municipalities with limited property tax bases. The funding is designed to help communities adjust to year-over-year changes while addressing unique local circumstances.
The OMPF includes several components, such as Assessment Equalization, Northern and Rural Communities, Fiscal Circumstances, and Transitional Assistance to ensure minimum funding levels are maintained.
In Lennox and Addington County, the 2026 allocations are: Addington Highlands – $2,303,800, Greater Napanee – $2,159,900, Stone Mills – $1,220,000, and Loyalist – $422,000. These funds will assist local councils in maintaining critical municipal services and supporting community needs throughout the year.
