The Napanee Raiders have lots to be thankful for this Thanksgiving long weekend, splitting a pair of games.
Friday night the Napanee Raiders hosted the Trent Hills Thunder. The Raiders went up 3-0 in the first with goals by Jay Dalgleish, assisted by Spencer Cranley on the Power Play, Jackson Barnes with an assist by Zered Haller, and Spencer Cranley with assists from Tanner Hawkins and Reid Lambert. The Raiders then took dominating 5-0 lead in the second period with additional goals by Andrew Carr, assisted by Ryan McGee and Mason Goodfellow, and Spencer Cranley with assists from Jackson Barnes and Kaden Byne on the Power Play. A scoreless third period means a 5-0 Raiders win! Raiders goalie Jacob Brown made 40 saves on 40 shots on goal.
Saturday night, the Raiders to the road to Frankford to play the Huskies. Frankford struck first, just 32-seconds into the first period. Owen Kish then scored for the Raiders, assisted by Reid Lambert and Spencer Cranley to tie the game 1-1. The Huskies then scored twice in the second period to take a 3-1 lead. During the first period, Frankford scored early to take a 4-1 lead. Raiders Captain, Reid Lambert, then scored on the Power Play with assists from Tanner Hawkins and Kaden Byne to bring the Raiders within two goals. But Frankford would find the back of the net twice more to lead to a 6-2 Frankford win. Raiders goalie Jacob Brown made 28 saves on 34 shots on goal.
The Napanee Raiders are in first place in the East Tod Division standings with a 6-3 record and 12 points.
The Raiders are back in action Tuesday, October 14th, when they’re in Lakefield to play the Chiefs at 7:25pm. Friday, October 17th the Raiders host Port Hope at 7:30pm. Then Sunday, October 19th, the Raiders play in Amherstview at 7:30pm.
