Hike for Hospice 2025 is now underway and will run until October 26. The annual event encourages participants to walk at their own pace to support hospice care in Lennox and Addington.
myFM spoke with Melanie Bramburger, who says funds raised through the hike help enhance hospice services, including specialized equipment, books, and resources to comfort families during difficult times.
Signing up is simple. Participants can visit Hike for Hospice L&A 2025 on their website, or stop by the hospice office to get a pledge sheet. Supporters can also pledge walkers through CanadaHelps on individual walker pages.
The hike is virtual, reflecting the palliative journey where participants take steps when they can, at a pace that is meaningful to them.
Bramburger’s two worlds are colliding, as the Napanee Raiders team is participating this year. She say it is inspiring to see young people supporting their community and learning the value of hospice palliative care.
