Belleville Police responded to a domestic dispute in the city’s east end on Wednesday, September 24 at approximately 7:20 p.m. A verbal argument reportedly escalated, resulting in a man allegedly assaulting a woman by hitting and choking her.
During the incident, the victim was pushed into a door while holding their child, causing both to strike their heads.
Following an investigation, police arrested a 30-year-old man from Yarker. He has been charged with two counts of assault.
The man was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in November.
