The Town of Deseronto is moving forward with new safety measures on Main Street to help protect pedestrians and calm traffic.
Starting October 1, 2025, traffic delineators will be installed between Fifth Street and First Street. These markers are designed to force vehicles to reduce speed while traveling through the busy downtown stretch. At the same time, new No Parking signs will be added on both sides of Main Street between Fourth Street and First Street.
The town says the changes are aimed at improving safety, visibility, and accessibility for residents and visitors. The delineators will remain in place until December 1 before being temporarily removed for winter street clearing. They will return on April 1, when winter parking restrictions end.
Town officials say the initiative reflects a proactive approach to community safety and are asking drivers and pedestrians to stay cautious and alert while adjusting to the changes.
