The County of Lennox and Addington has awarded a contract to GIP Paving Inc. to carry out major rehabilitation work on County Road 6, stretching from County Road 23 (at the round about) south to Highway 33.
The project will begin September 15 and is expected to wrap up by October 31, 2025. Work will include widening the road to improve safety, milling the old asphalt, applying a Stress Absorbing Membrane Interlayer to reduce cracking, and paving with new asphalt for a smoother, longer-lasting surface.
Officials say the improvements will enhance driving conditions and extend the life of the roadway.
During construction, traffic will be reduced to one lane in multiple locations, with flag personnel directing vehicles. Access to private driveways may be temporarily affected, with advance notice provided to residents if required.
The County is thanking drivers and residents for their patience as it works to improve local infrastructure.
