With kids back in school and homes a little quieter, the Ontario SPCA Lennox and Addington Animal Centre is urging empty nesters to consider fostering animals in need!
The centre says foster volunteers play a critical role by providing temporary, loving homes for animals that are too young, sick, injured, under-socialized, or stressed to thrive in a shelter environment.
myFM spoke with Sara Vanderveer, who says they’re looking for volunteers with a love of animals.
The Ontario SPCA says fostering not only gives animals a safe and supportive environment, it also brings joy and purpose to families.
myFM also spoke with Emma, who works at the L&A OSPCA and is a foster parent. She told us some of the benefits of being a foster home!
Sara let us know how you can become a foster home.

They also have a number of cats and dogs who are ready for adoption and are looking for their forever home, including Copper (pictured below). Copper has been at the centre for long enough he is considered a long-term resident.
