Lennox and Addington County OPP say a Kingston driver is facing multiple charges after a traffic complaint on the first day of school led to an arrest.
Police were called just after 7 a.m. on September 3, 2025, about a vehicle that nearly struck a school bus on County Road 2 in Tyendinaga Township. A second witness reported the same vehicle drove into a ditch, hit a mailbox, and continued eastbound.
Officers later found the vehicle in Napanee and arrested the driver.
Charity-Jo Murphy, 48, of Kingston, is charged with operation while impaired by alcohol, operation while impaired over 80 milligrams, dangerous operation, and failing to remain.
Murphy was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Court in Greater Napanee on September 23, 2025.
The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and vehicle was impounded for seven days.
