The Deseronto Public Library is celebrating a big win after getting a $199,800 Capital Grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. The money paid for upgrades to the washrooms and HVAC system, making the library more comfortable and accessible for everyone. The improvements were officially celebrated at the library’s Summer Kick-Off Party with local MPP Ric Bresee.
The project increased public washrooms from one to four, with one fully accessible washroom and a universal washroom with three stalls. The new heating and cooling system will keep the building cool in summer and warm in winter.
Library CEO Julie Lane says the improvements will help make the space more inclusive for all members of the community.
The Deseronto Public Library continues to offer programs for all ages and interests. For more details about events or to sign up for their newsletter, visit www.deserontopubliclibrary.ca.
