A driver from Loyalist Township is facing multiple charges after fleeing a crash scene in Greater Napanee.
On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, just before 4 p.m., a Quinte West OPP officer saw a single-vehicle collision on Palace Road. The driver fled on foot before officers could arrive.
Members of the Lennox and Addington County OPP responded with help from the OPP’s Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team, and Canine Unit. A police dog successfully tracked the suspect, who was then arrested.
41-year-old James Brooks has been charged with dangerous driving, breach of probation, driving while suspended, and failing to remain at the scene.
He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on August 5, 2025.
