The Battle of the Bands is back and bigger than ever in Napanee this weekend, with more performers, new features, and a full weekend of family fun. The Battle takes place this Saturday and Sunday at the Napanee Fair Grounds from 12pm to 6pm.
myFM spoke with organizer Jasmine Bailey, who say the first event was such a success last year, it has now grown from a youth-focused concert series into a full-scale competition.
More than 20 musical acts will hit the stage in the Palace, including local names like Nate the Nobody and Restless Endangerment, along with bands from across Ontario. A new category for performers aged 30 and up has also been added.
Outside the of the performances, there are lots of things for visitors to check out, like the Vendor Alley,
There’s even a tattoo and piercing station from Incisive and O2 Oxygen Bar.
Half the proceeds will support Napanee District Secondary School music students, with the other half funding future community events.
Bailey says the goal is to give local musicians of all ages a chance to shine while supporting good causes.
Tickets are available at the gate or online through Eventbrite.
