A 24-year-old from Napanee is facing serious charges after a hit-and-run crash in Belleville early Sunday morning.
At 2:22 a.m. on June 15, Belleville Police and Hastings-Quinte Paramedics responded to a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision near North Front Street and Tracey Street. The driver fled the scene, but left behind vehicle parts, including a bumper with a licence plate still attached.
The pedestrian suffered injuries to her head and face and was treated by paramedics.
Police traced the licence plate to a vehicle registered in Napanee. The Belleville Police contacted the OPP, who helped locate the vehicle and arrest the suspect.
William Savard, 24, of Napanee, has been charged with dangerous operation causing bodily harm, failing to stop after an accident, and impaired operation causing bodily harm.
He was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in July.
