The Town of Greater Napanee is mourning the loss of former mayor Neil Lambert, who passed away recently.
Lambert served on council for 13 years, from 1982 to 1995, back when the municipality was known as the Town of Napanee. Over that time, he held several roles, including Councillor, Deputy Reeve, and Mayor.
Mayor Richardson has known Neil for many years, both personally and professionally. Mayor Richardson stated, “No matter if he was in Council or fulfilling his duties as an auctioneer, Neil was always fair and reasonable with everyone he came in contact with. He will be sadly missed”.
Flags have been lowered at 99 Advance Avenue, Station 1, and the Best & Bash Arena in his honour. They will remain at half-mast until his funeral service on June 20.
The town has offered sincere condolences to Lambert’s family and friends, thanking him for his many years of service to the community.
