Starting July 1, 2025, Loyalist Township and Stone Mills Township will switch to Ontario’s new recycling system. Circular Materials will manage the program, while Emterra Environmental will collect recycling in Loyalist Township. myFM has reached out to the Town of Greater Napanee to confirm if the switch will be taking place before or on the deadline of January 1, 2026.
Residents do not need to do anything, as curbside recycling collection will continue as usual. Collection days and accepted materials will stay the same.
The Ontario Government is changing how blue box materials are collected and processed as of January 1, 2026. The new system aims to make recycling easier, more consistent, and more efficient.
Residents should watch for updates by mail, on the Township website, and on social media.
The move supports Ontario’s plan for a better blue box program across the province, helping to increase recycling rates.
