A Quebec driver is facing impaired driving charges after police were called to Sandbanks Provincial Park on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
Shortly before 3:00 p.m., officers with the Prince Edward County OPP responded to a report of a possible impaired driver inside the popular Ontario park. Police quickly located the vehicle in question and conducted a roadside alcohol screening test. The driver was then taken to the local OPP detachment for further testing.
Louis Clermont, 28, of Rosemere, Quebec, has been charged with two offences: operation while impaired and operation with a blood alcohol concentration over 80.
Clermont’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Picton on July 2, 2025.
