The Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus (EOWC), which represents 103 municipalities, held a major Advocacy Day at Queen’s Park on May 13. Leaders met with Premier Doug Ford, Cabinet Ministers, and MPPs to push forward three regional priorities: economic resilience, faster housing development, and streamlined investment in local infrastructure.
The EOWC presented new data showing Eastern Ontario’s economic drivers and called for stronger provincial-municipal partnerships to support growth. They emphasized how local governments are ready to help “Protect Ontario” and keep the province open for business.
The Premier hosted the EOWC for a multi-minister meeting. Several other meetings followed throughout the day with ministers, MPPs, and party leaders.
A breakfast reception gave officials a chance to learn more about the region’s top priorities.
The EOWC also thanked key business partners, saying this day marked a milestone moment for advocating Eastern Ontario’s future.
