Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Kingston Frontenac Lennox and Addington have responded to increasing demands for their services with a variety of mentoring programs designed to provide much needed services to those on longer wait-lists.
Associate Director Kylie Filion explains how it works.
In their most recent annual report Big Brothers Big Sisters KFL&A reported a 40% increase in services provided to over 700 children with the help of 120 volunteers. Kylie describes who’s involved in the trauma focused mentoring programs.
Their success is clearly demonstrated in the fact that 95% of children surveyed said BBBS programs made them feel like they mattered. Kylie is convinced her organization’s efforts are critical.
You can learn more about these programs and how to support them on their website or on any of their social media pages.
