Community Living Lennox and Addington (CLLA) is celebrating Community Living Month with events and activities to raise awareness and support for people with developmental disabilities.
Barb Fabius, Executive Director of CLLA, says they people from Amherst Island to Cloyne, offering programs for those with physical, developmental, and mental health challenges.
This month, the organization is flying the Community Living flag alongside the Canadian flag at its main office at 99 Richmond Blvd. Their building is also illuminated in fun lights.
Staff and participants are enjoying games, outdoor fun, and a popular hot dog and chips barbecue. A giant cake decorated in Community Living’s blue and green colours will also be part of the festivities.
The group’s downtown Napanee store, The Hub, is also in the spotlight. The store is known for its homemade fudge and handcrafted wooden products. Fabius teased some summer flavours of fudge are on the horizon.
Community Living is also gearing up for a big fundraiser. On Saturday, June 7, the board will host “Summer Sweetness,” a vendor event that promises even more ways to support the cause. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
