The United Way Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington honoured local volunteers and businesses at its 2025 Workplace Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, April 29. Held at the Quality Inn and Conference Centre in Kingston and sponsored by Bell and CIBC Wood Gundy, the event celebrated the success of workplace campaigns from the 2024 fundraising year.
Workplace campaigns made up 61 per cent of the United Way’s total campaign dollars in 2024. Volunteers were recognized with a variety of awards, including Participation, Achievement, Champion, and Britton Smith Leadership Awards. The event also acknowledged first-time campaigns, labour and media partners, and outstanding individual contributors.
Some local highlights include Goodyear Canada Inc. receiving Limestone Award, Silver Award, Sapphire, and Community Champion Award, the Corporation of the County of Lennox & Addington receiving the Flagstone Award, and 88.7 myFM receiving a Media Partner Award.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of the “Voice of Community Award” by Bell, given in memory of Greg Hinton to a member of the Speakers Bureau.
The United Way also used the occasion to introduce the new volunteer chair for its 2025 campaign. We’ll have more with her soon.
