The good news is measles cases are going down across Ontario, but health officials in KFL&A say adults may still be at risk.
Public Health Ontario confirmed 34 new cases and one probable case between April 14 and 20, down from 79 cases the week before. In early April, Ontario had a record 136 confirmed cases in one week.
This year, Ontario has seen 1,020 measles cases — 884 confirmed and 136 probable — across 15 health regions. More than a third were in southwestern Ontario.
The South East Health Unit has reported 79 cases. Most of them are in Hastings County in children who were not vaccinated.
Health officials say people born between 1970 and the mid-1980s may not have received a second dose of the measles vaccine.
The Health Unit is urging everyone to check their records and get vaccinated to stay protected.
