There is a new program at Kingston Health Science Centre aimed at helping those with brain tumours.
The Interactive Brain Tumour Program was developed by neurosurgeon Dr. Teresa Purzner.
Purzner is also a businesswoman who runs a science-backed baby food company.
In a news release, the program uses a different approach moving beyond traditional academic training methods.
KHSC says the program has resulted in improvements in quality key metrics and increased patient referrals.
They say its success has garnered interest from hospitals around the world that are looking to implement similar programs.
Purzner says they had a goal of creating a world-class innovation pipeline in brain tumor research and care, and it is paying off.
