A group of military students stop by the myFM studio to learn about our emergency communication capacities - June, 2022
Students and instructors from the Peace Support Training Centre (PSTC) in Kingston will conduct a training exercise in Greater Napanee. On March 5, 2025, around 20 uniformed personnel will carry out area assessments of the local community as part of their Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) Operators course from 8 am to 4 pm.
This training involves surveying community infrastructure, engaging with residents, and analyzing the dynamics of the Township. Students will take pictures and gather information to complete their assessment. The findings will be shared with PSTC staff for evaluation.
Residents may see groups of eight to 10 uniformed personnel and civilian vehicles during the exercise. No weapons will be present, and the training will have minimal impact on the community. CIMIC training focuses on fostering cooperation between military forces and civil authorities, both in Canada and abroad.
