It was an exciting weekend for the Napanee Raiders who extended their winning streak to 11 games and and won their third shutout victory in a row!
Friday, February 7th, the Raiders hosted the Trent Hills Thunder. First period saw goals by Jackson Barnes (2) and Ben White (2) for a 4-0 Raiders lead. In the second period Napanee added three more thanks to goals by Michael Patrick, Trent Williams and Erik MacNiel for a 7-0 lead. Goals in the third period were scored by Luke Jarmin and Christos Chronis for a 9-0 Raiders win with Logan Vale earning the shutout.
Saturday, February 8th, the Raiders hit the road to play the North Kawartha Knights. Jayden Holden opened the scoring for the Raiders in the first period to which the Knights answered with their first with 12 seconds left in the period, ending the Raiders shutout streak. Second period saw three goals for the Raiders by Erik MacNiel (2) and Jayden Holden to regain their lead. Alex Case and Trent Williams both scored for the Raiders in the third period for a 6-1 win!
As of the time of publication, the Napanee Raiders are sitting in first place in the East Tod Division standings with a 31-7-1-1 record and 62 points. They’re followed by the Frankford Huskies (29-8 record and 58 points), Picton (55 points), Amherstview (54 points), Lakefield (51 points), Port Hope (25 points), Trent Hills (16 points), and North Kawartha (8 points).
The Raiders are back in action for their final games of the regular season on Friday, February 14th, at home against Amherstview at 7:30pm. Then on Saturday, February 25th the Raiders play in Frankford at 7pm.
