The recent cold weather has made for perfect conditions to celebrate the Newburgh Canal Bash’s 30th anniversary! This years canal bash is taking place February 15th.
myFM spoke with Derek Godfrey with the Stone Mills Fire Department, who told us the day starts off with Breakfast at Newburgh Hall at 8am hosted by the baseball association.
This being their 30th anniversary, they’ve added some new attractions including the skating trail.
As well this year, they have named the hockey tournament in memory of Rick Doyle, who was instrumental in launching the event and maintaining the ice.
With all of that skating and excitement, you’re going to build up an appetite!
The all you can eat costs $5 for children under 12, $10 for adults, or $25 for a family. As well, this is a cash only event.
Then the evening ends with fireworks at dark. “We’ve never had a complaint,” Godfrey said, describing the fireworks display.
