A pre-trial date has been set for a Prince Edward County man accused of committing fraud that caused losses of over $500,000.
Paul Marconi, 65, was charged with 40 offences following a lengthy investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police. The alleged offences date back several years and involve multiple victims.
Marconi, the former vice president and general manager of Casa Dea Estates Winery, was initially charged in July 2023. Additional charges were laid late last year after more victims came forward.
The case appeared in court in Picton on Wednesday. A judicial pre-trial is scheduled to begin on February 19.
Police are continuing their investigation and encourage anyone with information to contact the Prince Edward County OPP.
