We shared with you last week that the Town of Greater Napanee will begin Christmas Tree Pickup on Monday. Residents are reminded to have their real Christmas trees at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on Monday, January 6, 2025.
For those looking to support local organizations, Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre in Napanee welcomes trees in good condition. The trees are used in animal enclosures to create natural habitats. Gibbon’s Goats, located at 521 Roblin Road, also accepts trees. Their goats eat the needles and bark, leaving just the wood.
Another option is backyard composting. According to the Nature Conservancy of Canada, letting a tree decompose enriches the soil and provides shelter for wildlife.
