The Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) Napanee are getting ready to celebrate Community Support Services Month which takes place during the month of October.
myFM spoke with VON Manager of Home & Community Care, Cindy Weese, who told us more about their event taking place this Thursday, October 31st.
There will also be light refreshments, Halloween treats, door prizes, and swag! There is no admission, but they’re asking attendees to bring a non-perishable food item for the Salvation Army Food Bank.
There will be a number of vendors in attendance, like the Alzheimer’s Society of KFL&A and L&A Seniors Outreach Services.
The VON first launched in Napanee July of 2019. They offer a number of programs to help keep seniors in their homes like meals on wheels, transportation, congregate dinning, fitness and fall prevention program, and three different types of respite programs that support families.
Weese notes they’ve grown stronger over their 5-years in town.
