In Loyalist Township, the Potter Creighton South and Main Project is making significant progress, aiming to improve road infrastructure, traffic flow, and safety in the area. Involving the county, township, and a developer, each partner contributes to key upgrades.
The project targets Main Street completion by late 2024, with overnight two-lane traffic and daytime single-lane alternations to manage traffic flow. Residents are advised to allow extra travel time or consider alternate routes.
Improvements include county-led road resurfacing, turning lanes by the developer for better access to Potter Drive and nearby schools, and new water and sewer lines installed by the township. Additionally, a new multi-use path along the project’s south side will promote safe walking and cycling. Safety is further enhanced by a pedestrian crossing with lighted signals near the school, providing a secure route for students and residents. These upgrades aim to meet long-term community needs and boost overall area safety.
