Four inmates were recently assaulted at Millhaven Institution, a maximum-security federal prison in Bath. The assault took place on October 15, 2024. The injured inmates received treatment from staff before being taken to a hospital for further care. All have since returned to the institution.
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is working closely with the Ontario Provincial Police to investigate the incident. No staff or other inmates were injured during the assault.
The CSC emphasizes that safety and security remain their highest priority. To prevent future incidents, the CSC will review the circumstances of this assault and take the necessary actions to improve security measures at the institution.
Millhaven Institution continues to ensure the safety of its inmates, staff, and the public as investigations proceed.
