Hastings-Lennox and Addington MPP Ric Bresee is warning that a misleading flyer is being mailed to residents, claiming you can receive up to $50,000 from the Government of Canada for various medical conditions. The flyer lists conditions such as ADHD, arthritis, asthma, cancer, and diabetes, suggesting that all ages and medical issues qualify. It urges recipients to call “Ontario Benefits” or text for a free information package.
However, this flyer is not from the government and may be a potential scam. Authorities are urging people to be cautious and avoid sharing personal information with unknown sources.
If you have questions or need help with legitimate provincial programs, contact Bresee’s office for assistance. Always verify the legitimacy of such offers to protect yourself from fraud.
