If you’re planning on taking the train soon, a heads up that Via Rail is warning of 30-60 minute delays along our stretch of the tracks.
This warning for the Montreal, Ottawa, Kingston, Toronto and Windsor corridor is due to new speed restrictions imposed on its new trains by Canadian National Railway.
C-N Rail company now owns the tracks, and Via Rail says the restrictions were brought in Friday without prior notice.
It’s requiring new trains operating between Windsor and Montreal to reduce speed at multiple public crossings, citing safety issues.
Via Rail says it continues to “engage in constructive dialogue with C-N to find solutions to this situation.”
