Infrastructure Ontario has released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to find teams for the Quinte Detention Centre Expansion Project in Greater Napanee.
This expansion will add 66 new beds to the facility, increasing its total capacity to over 300. The RFQ is the first step in the process, with Infrastructure Ontario and the Ministry of the Solicitor General aiming to shortlist teams with the necessary construction experience and financial backing.
Shortlisted teams will be invited to submit proposals in response to a Request for Proposals (RFP), expected to be released by summer 2025. The expansion project is valued at under $200 million, according to the latest P3 Market Update report.
Construction is set to begin in early 2026.
