The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has found no grounds for criminal charges against an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer following the death of a 66-year-old man in Shannonville on June 15, 2024.
The man tragically took his own life using a rifle. OPP officers were conducting a welfare check in the area at the time. Due to their presence, the SIU launched an investigation but determined no criminal offence was committed.
