The following has been submitted to myFM from Lennox and Addington Interval House:
Lennox and Addington Interval House (LAIH) has retained third-party auditors MNP to undertake an independent investigation of financial matters during the tenure of its former Executive Director.
The investigation was begun after evidence was found that LAIH’s financial records may be incorrect, and its charitable property not appropriately accounted for over a period of several years.
LAIH’s Board and leadership team are committed to determining the facts and taking all appropriate steps to account for all its property.
No information suggests that any current or former Board member or other volunteer, or any current employee of LAIH is involved in this matter.
It is expected that the independent investigation will take some time.
To protect the integrity of the investigation, we are limited in the information that can be shared at this time. Once this investigation is complete, LAIH is committed to sharing the findings and any actions that may result.
Lennox and Addington Interval House’s mission to provide a place of safety for women and children to live free of violence is not affected in any way. All LAIH programs and services are running normally and will continue to do so.
