Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal collision on Highway 401 westbound, near Napanee, that occurred around 10 p.m. last night.
The accident involved a tractor-trailer and multiple vehicles, resulting in one fatality and several injuries.
The westbound lanes remain closed between County Road 4 and Palace Road (County Road 5) as the investigation continues.
OPP Collision Reconstructionists and members of the Technical Collision Investigation Team are on-site to determine the cause of the crash.
Lennox and Addington County OPP officers have been working through the night to assist stranded motorists and manage the closure.
The ongoing investigation aims to provide clarity on the circumstances leading to the collision.
The westbound lanes will remain closed until the investigation is complete, and updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
