The 8th annual Firefighter Memorial Bike Ride passed through Greater Napanee Thursday afternoon.
This is a three day, 575-kilometre bike ride featuring 67 firefighters from across Ontario, Alberta and Newfoundland.
myFM spoke with Ride Coordinator and President of the Toronto Fire Celtic Society, David Cossitt during their stop at the Napanee Fire station.
Their ride began Wednesday in Hamilton and will end Friday afternoon in Ottawa at the National Firefighters Memorial, where a record number of firefighters are being added to the memorial.
One way they’re honouring these firefighters while on their ride is with tags featuring their names that are on their bicycles.
Donations can be made at CelticFireRide.ca, where supporters can pick a rider to contribute towards.
