After 43 years in business, Bill and Marina Kosmopoulos are set to retire next week. A new owner will be taking over the reigns, continuing the spot as a pizzeria.
The married couple were recognized by Greater Napanee Town Council at their meeting this week, acknowledging their years of service.
Mayor Terry Richardson began in saying amazingly 43 years ago, Bill and Marina opened the small and inviting pizza shop on Dundas Street downtown.
La Pizzeria is a hotspot during the school year at lunch time, with many high school kids making the walk for a slice. Marina shared with Mayor Richardson that one thing she’ll really miss is seeing the kids at lunch.
Bill and Marina shared with myFM that the fact their retiring next week hasn’t quite set in yet.
The couple had this message to share with their community and everyone who’s walked through their doors in the last 43 years.
They won’t be going too far! They have plans to stay with their daughter in Napanee before doing some traveling and making a stop in Greece to visit family.
