If you have a summer vacation flight booked through WestJet, you can almost breathe easy: there will still be some disruptions even though they reached a deal with the union to end a mechanic’s strike.
They hope to have all flights back to normal in a few short days.
Over the course of the long-weekend 110,000 travelers were left stranded thanks to 829 flight cancellations due to the strike, which began Friday.
myFM’s Graham Elliott and his wife Jody were about to return home from their honeymoon in Mexico when they found out their WestJet flight was cancelled. They quickly found out flights home on other airlines were not ideal.
They haven’t been able to reach WestJet, but are hoping for some compensation.
