Loyalist Township is hosting a Family Fishing Day event as part of Ontario’s Free Family Fishing Events on Saturday, May 11th!
The event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Stella Bay Park & Dock, 5220 Front Road, Stella, on Amherst Island.
myFM spoke with township mayor Jim Hegadorn, who told us more.
But there’s more than just fishing planned, also fun games, crafts, face painting, live music, a cash BBQ, and some industrial professionals will also be in attendance.
The Neilson Store Museum and Cultural Centre will also be open for the day, so visitors can head into the museum to learn about the history of Amherst Island.
How do you get there? The mayor says there’s a free shuttle service day of beginning 9am.
The shuttle runs until 3pm to get you back too.
Everyone is encouraged to bring a fishing rod or two, life jackets, and join in the fun!
Loyalist Township would like to thank their sponsors DM Boat Sales, Loyalist Cove Marina, and the Napanee and District Rod and Gun Club for making this event possible.
