Recent rainfall has raised water levels in the Quinte Conservation watershed, but flooding is not expected.
While levels are higher than earlier this spring, they’re within normal range for this time of year.
Larger lakes are approaching normal summer levels without reaching flood stage, but smaller lakes and creeks may see higher peaks.
Quinte Conservation is preparing for more rain by managing dams to mitigate potential impacts. Public caution is advised near water bodies, and residents should secure loose items along shorelines.
A water safety statement indicates that high flows, unsafe banks, melting ice or other factors could be dangerous for users such as anglers, boaters, swimmers, children, or pets. Flooding is not expected.
