The L&A OPP have charged one person after conducting a search warrant in Tyendinaga Township
Tuesday afternoon the OPP ROPE Squad went to a residence on Queen Street in Tyendinaga Township looking for a male who was breaching his conditions. The male fled with a machete but was apprehended without incident. A search of the residence yielded a loaded shotgun, two rifles, a prohibited magazine, and various ammunition.
As a result, the OPP charged 36-year-old Joseph Dunkley from Tyendinaga with:
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm – three counts
- Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition – three counts
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm – three counts
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Fail to comply with release order – other than attend court – five counts
- Mischief under $5000
- Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to probation order – seven counts
- Possession of a firearm knowing serial number had been tampered with
The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in Court in Greater Napanee at a later date.
