A heads up to local commuters in the Kingston area, the LaSalle Causeway will remain closed until further notice.
Initially closed for scheduled rehabilitation work over the weekend, the causeway failed to reopen as expected on Monday morning. It remains inaccessible to vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians.
According to a media release from Public Services and Procurement Canada on Tuesday, an incident occurred on the bridge Saturday evening, compromising a construction element. No one was injured or harmed as a result of this incident.
