The Museum of Lennox and Addington, which houses the Archives of Lennox and Addington, is gearing up to celebrate Archives Awareness Month this April with various events centered around archives.
From Monday, April 2nd to Friday, April 5th, the Archives’ Reading Room offers free admission.
Visitors can explore a wide range of materials such as photographs, letters, diaries, maps, newspapers, and genealogical sources, providing insights into the lives of residents in Lennox and Addington County from the late 18th century to the present.
Special Archives Awareness Month events at the Museum include:
- April 16th, 7PM | Tuesday Night @ the Museum, Shades of Allegiance: Hidden Loyalties of the Giraud/Gerow Family in the American Revolution, presentation by Author Jane Simpson about her latest book. $3/person, best for ages 13+. Details here: https://countymuseum.ca/event/shades-of-allegiance/
- April 20th, 1:30-4:30PM | Property Workshop with Heritage Specialist Megan Hobson, Unlocking the Past: Keys to your Home’s Story. $25/person, best for adults and homeowners.
