CNOY Walk 2023
The Coldest Night of the Year walk is this weekend, raising important funds locally to support the Morningstar Mission and the support they provide to community members in need.
Walkers will be hitting the streets Saturday beginning at 5pm from Trinity United Church. The current forecast for Saturday is showing clear skies with a high of -5°C and a low of -12°C, so it will be nice and cold for the walkers.
myFM spoke with organizer Lynda Carney, who says she and the team of volunteers are very excited for this year’s walk.
It’s never too late to register as a walker or make a donation! Carney says CNOY makes it very easy.
If you’re not able to donate between now and Saturday good news, donations will be accepted through CNOY.org/Napanee until the end of March.
Morningstar Mission Executive Director Kevin Alkenbrack shared with us a message about the importance of making a donation and/or being a walker. His message to walkers is that it’s important to overcome any fears you may have when it comes to asking your friends, family, coworkers or classmates to donate towards your walk.
A housekeeping note for walkers: Registration begins at 4pm in the Trinity United Church parking lot. Walkers are being asked to enter through the John Street laneway entrance. There you will be met by volunteers for registration and to pick up your toques and treats.
