The Tyendinaga Township Public Library has seen a rise in new library card holders, bringing with it new programs and services available to the community.
The library board recently presented a delegation to Township Council highlighting this growth as the library prepares their annual budget for the municipal grant.
myFM spoke with Library CEO Kristin Farrell, who told us over 460 new people have joined them in the last two years.
Two special programs that have helped to drive up their numbers include a volunteer led program called ‘Music in Montion’ for pre-school kids and a year-round afterschool tutoring program for all students.
The library is also open to hearing from the community about new ideas you’d like to see come to life at the library.
And as always, getting your child a library card while they’re young can help them start learning important life lessons like independence as they take care of their books.
