It was not the evening the Napanee Raiders were hoping for as they made the trip to Picton to play the Pirates.
The Picton Pirates scored once in the first period, once in the second, and twice in the third. The Raiders fought back late in the game to avoid the shut-out loss with Cameron Krupa scoring with 5:46 left in the game. Then 39 seconds later Erik MacNiel would score the Raiders second of the night. With 24 seconds left in the game Picton would score on an empty Napanee net for a 5-2 win.
The Napanee Raiders are sitting in fourth place in the East Tod Division standings with a 18-12-0-1 record and 37 points. They sit behind Frankford (22-6-4-0), Port Hope (19-10-3-1) and Amherstview (20-11-0-0). Followed by Picton (13-17-1-1) and Campbellford (0-27-1-1).
The Raiders return to action Friday, January 19 at home against Port Hope. Puck drop at 7:30pm.
