When you drive past the site of the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital, on the outside you’ll see the construction currently underway for the new long term care facility. But what you don’t see, is everything happening inside the very busy hospital!
Preparations are currently underway for the hospital’s first magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine.
myFM spoke with Amanda Chalk from the LACGH Foundation, who told us they are currently busy fundraising for everything that goes along with a new machine.
The former Lenadco facility will house the new MRI, as well as bone density and mammography clinics.
The hospital foundation has some exciting fundraising events planned for 2024 that they will announce closer to the new year. Right now, you can support the campaign by taking part in their monthly 50/50 raffle.
As well, community groups, businesses, and anyone else interested, is encouraged to host your own fundraiser to help support the MRI campaign.
