Paul Bernardo, the infamous sex offender and child killer who spent three decades in Maximum Security prisons in Kingston and Millhaven, was recently prevented from making a media statement during his transfer to a medium-security prison.
That’s according to emails obtained by The Canadian Press in an access to information request.
Concerns among prison service staff in June centered on the possibility of Bernardo issuing a statement through his lawyer, prompting the Correctional Service of Canada to take swift action to suppress any potential communication from the notorious convict.
Bernardo was transferred and now sits in a Quebec facility.
