A 34-year-old from Prince Edward County is due in court to answer assault charges.
On September 26th around 7 pm, the Prince Edward County OPP received a report about a suspicious person near George Wright Boulevard. This person had assaulted someone. Officers, with the help of the East Region Canine Unit, arrived, arrested the individual, and during the process, the person also assaulted the officers. Thankfully, none of the officers were hurt, but the individual did cause damage to the detention center.
Jesse Hanna has been charged with assault, assaulting a peace officer and two counts of mischief.
They were released from custody with a future court date.
